Sports of Korea

Last 2008 was a year of Olympic. various sports are over the whole world. what sports are popular in korea?we can often see many people who play soccer in park. we can play soccer if we just have soccer ball and place. every school has soccer club. and adults play soccer with friends or co-workers. then, how is K-league? in 1990s was the climax of k-league. since 2000, the popularity has withered. but there is a touch of rivival of K-league.we need many equipments like glove, bat, ball, and base. so we can't often see people playing baseball, however the pro baseball is very popular. especially, in Beijing olympic, korea won the gold medal so there was a tremendous popularity. and Busan fans are famous. because they swing vinyl as fan of singer swing balloon. it is a very beautiful landscape.students like to play basketball. every apartment, and every school have basketball ground. so we just need ball to play basketball. many students play basket ball to make grow their tall. and pro basket ball also very popular.and there is Volleyball. although beach volleyball isn't popular , volleyball is very popular. because players are very handsome. hahaha just kidding. volleyball play is so fast that many people like it.Badminton is a nation sport. as we can see people playing anywhere, and anytime. without distinction of age or sex, people enjoy playing badminton. it is good for diet, to grow tall and goot for everything. as many people enjoy it, korea badminton is top of the world. there are many sports in korea? especially pro game of baseball and soccer are in summer, pro game of basketball and volleyball are in winter. so they are more popular. a strong nation of sports, korea, isn't wonderful?

Lunar New Year Day!


Yesterday was a lunar new year day. In korea, this day is one of the most important holidays. this consecutive holidays is 3days. Many people visit his or her hometown, so there are a lot of heavy traffic jams. in addition, this new year day, we had a lot of snow. the roads in the whole country were like parking lot.








then, let's know what koreans do and eat in the lunar new year day.
1. Cooking
1) Bun(Mandoo)
koreans cook buns. many people knead flour and make the bun, but today, a lot of people buy the kneading. bun stuffing is made up of minced meat, crushed bean curd, minced kimchi, chopped garlic and so on. then put the stuffing on the kneading and wrap the stuffing in kneading. 2) Rice cake soup
Koreans eat Rice cake soup, and believe that we grow old when we eat rice cake soup. Eating rice cake soup means that hope long life like garae-rice cake, to earn much money (shreded garae rice cake looks like the coin). (garae rice cake)
2. New year's Call
On the lunar new year day, young people make a new year's call for elders.
then, Elders give young people well wishing remarks and money. we can find this custom in China and Japan.
3. Ancestor-memorial services.
Korea was a confucianism country, so many people are followed by confucianism customs until today. On the lunar new year day, koreans visit their ancestor's tomb and salute with some food.
